Skylight Telescopes carries many pieces of pre-owned equipment. This means all items have had previous owners and have a history. All items offered for sale are carefully chosen and tested before being advertised. Where relevant and possible, this means any computer driven telescope has been personally checked for pointing accuracy. Our aim is to provide an interesting choice of high quality, and good value telescopes and accessories.
Pre-owned items on this website are normally single items. Although the site is updated regularly, situations may happen where the same item is purchased by two customers. If this should happen, the purchase that was processed first by our server will take precedence. Any other customers with outstanding purchases will be notified and refunded in full as soon as possible.
When buying a standard item from Skylight, you have 14 days to cancel your order (from the date you take delivery). New stock must be returned unopened, and in untouched condition (unless faulty) or we reserve the right to levy a re-stocking charge. Return the unpacked item in it’s original condition (and in the original packaging please), using the same method of insured delivery which was used to get it to you. Your purchase price (excluding postage) will be refunded in the same method as your purchase was made (credit card for credit card, Paypal for Paypal, cheque for cheque etc.).
USED EQUIPMENT RETURNS
If you are in any way unhappy with a purchase from our Used Equipment Gallery, we offer a full 14 day returns policy on these products to make your experience with us as smooth as possible. This includes as a minimum 14 working days from the day after delivery to you as the permitted cancellation period.
With pre-owned items, no manufacturers warranty remains. Within those 30 days (beginning form when you recieve your item), if any mechanical faults develop making the item unfit for the purpose for which it was intended, I will accept the item back and offer a full refund, including postage.
Where present, I have clearly stated on the product detail any issue that I may notice if I were the one buying it. However, due to the large amount of technology present in some models, it is sometimes impossible to detect any problems that may reside within. Wherever possible, I have personally tried the optical equipment for sale on this site. Telescopes, eyepieces, and accessories too, if relevant. I would not sell a piece of equipment I would not be happy to buy myself.

The utmost care is taken to ensure the accuracy of information and prices on this site. However, occasionally a mistake will happen. Should this circumstance occur, we will notify you of the error as soon as possible. After notification, if you should choose to not continue with the purchase, we will delete that item from your order. We will do our best to rectify these situations to your satisfaction. Ultimately, Skylight Telescopes does reserve the right to withdraw the item for sale.
